Challenges to Overcome
Combining independence and mandatory program components: A significant amount of your time (50%) is spent with your group. This time is comprised of seminars, field trips, group dynamics, study, and group living .
On the other hand, there
is a significant amount of time that is not taken up by the program. You are
left to be independent, and are expected to initiate and build your own
schedule.
Language barrier:
You will live in a non English speaking neighborhood. Basic Hebrew is strongly recommended. Cultural challenge: Low-income residential neighborhood. You live in the neighborhood where you volunteer – in the places that need your help. |
